After a really shitty mama day.

He waits at the door hoping for that one day when he will again be allowed outside.
Give it up, Hobbes.
It has been 3 years.

Wishing you a fresh, new year to flourish and grow.
Busy Day.
Cale got his hands into his first pumpkin guts.

And then it was trick-or-treating.

Brodie insisted on wearing his disguise so it was impossible for him to see where he was going.

Finally at the end of the night we lit oir jack-o-lanterns. Marley carved his all by himself for the first time!

On our way to a Halloween Party we had to stop off for some pictures.
Nerd love…
And, as expected, children can’t stay out of the mix… Family Halloween Costume Pic.

Marley: Mama, Who is Alfred?
Me: He is Batman’s butler.
Marley: What’s a butler?
Me: A butler is someone who works for another person. He opens the door, cooks them dinner, brings them food, draws their bath, gets their clothes out…. A butler does things like that .
Marley: Ooooooh, So YOU are our butler.
for the Swine Flu Vaccination. Our county’s rounds of vaccinatons started today. We waited patiently for our turn. Yes, this means there were 1287 people in front of us. We waited three hours. My boys were fabulous. I must give them props. They were so good. It may have something to do with a smart mother who only allows them their leapsters at times like this when long waits are mandatory. But also they are just good boys.
I was really torn about whether or not to get them vaccinated. I eventually decided that there are some things that are completely out of my hands (i.e. scoliosis and spinal surgery). And then there are others that I can try to do as much as I can to help.

the summer days. I love autumn (when we actually have an autumn…), but summer sunsets and sandals are a beautiful thing.

Cale got his big boy bed today. Last weekend we moved Cale and his crib into Marley and Brodie’s room. Today is the big transition to a twin bed.

He was so excited. Marley and Brodie were pretty stoked too because their room got a mini makeover, which included new Star Wars sheets and jammies.
This last weekend was filled with baking. I made cookies for Matt’s employees, the PTO meeting and a Halloween party. The kitchen countertops were filled with cookies. I love to bake, but I could do without baking ANYTHING for awhile. But in less than a month the cooking will be full force. At least most of the cookies will be out of my sight by tomorrow.
