From the day Brodie was born, I knew that he and Marley were complete opposites. From who they resembled to their personalities to what they liked to eat, opposites.
Right here, 6 and a half years later, I have the picture to prove it.
At school there was a “dress like what you want to be when you grow up. Marley, completely confident in himself, decided he wanted to dress as a Daddy. So, we made a makeshift sling and grabbed one of our baby dolls and he was set. Now it was Brodie’s turn. And, as I said, on the complete opposite end of parenting and nurturing, he chose “an army guy”. Albeit, it was hard for this tree hugging, peace loving hippie to swallow, I focused on the honor and protection soldiers are dedicated towards. But I knew the real appeal was fighting and weapons. Opposites.
I should also add that I, in no way, staged this photo. Brodie chose to point his finger gun at me and Marley put his arm around Brodie and went to loving his baby. How do such opposites end up the best of friends?

THAT is adorable!!!
I adore this!! Reminds me of Bud/Daniel. I agree it’s their personality but I also believe that birth order helps shape their personality…..you described my 1st two perfectly!
amazing how different they turn out, both adorable though!
I admit, I went from “what the heck is going on here?” to “Awwww, so adorable!”
I imagine life would be quite boring if they were the same personality, huh?
This photo is an testament to your AWESOME parenting! You allow your boys to be who they are, with no apology (not that any is required). the fact that they are friends is great! As far apart as they seem now, I bet they glean certain characteristics from each other as they grow, becoming the amazing men that you wish them to be.
LOVE this…I see your boys now and my boys in three years. Does B rub off in Mar more than the other way around? I have seen Will become more aggressive (partly out of necessity) but I have seen very little of Will’s gentle nature rub off on Eli. Maybe in the future?
I love this picture! It’s especially wonderful because it shows that your boys are being raised with so much love that they are totally comfortable being themselves. Bravo!
