Snowflake Day

In the middle of Cale being laid out with pneumonia, he was watching Max and Ruby. In one of the episodes Ruby makes snowflake cookies. While hardly able to lift his head from the couch, Cale looks up at me and says, “Mama, can we make snowflake cookies?” Feeling so sad for my sweet boy, I told him when he felt better we would DEFINITELY make some snowflake cookies.

He did not forget.

As soon as he started to perk up at the beginning of this week, he reminded me of my promise. I told him Thursday would be the perfect day for snowflake cookies.

It ended up turning into a whole snowflake day. No actual snow, but snowflake pancakes for breakfast…

With snowflake cookies for an afternoon snack…

Skylanders

Anyone else get suckered into this videogame?

OMG.  Marley’s friend got into it, which meant Marley was into it.  I, dumbly naively, said we should get the game with his birthday money.  I, in no way, at the time realized how crazy trying to find these “guys” for the game are right now.  People are buying them and selling them for 3 times the price on ebay.  Production can not keep up.  Yes, I am a dum dum.

But, in a moment of greatness, I walked into a Gamestop by the Starbucks where I was taking Cale and Perry for lunch.

*Light from the heavens shines through the front window onto the Skylanders display.
*Cue choir to sing high C.

There in the middle of this store, in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the day… A freshly arrived stash of Skylanders.

I fought the urge to be one of the assholes that buys every one of them and then sells them for profit.  Instead I bought one of each.

After school, Marley and Brodie were over the moon that the 2 week wait had ended.  They each got a new guy.

But shhh, the rest will be a Valentine’s surprise for my oldest little loves.
