Who am I to be blogging?

This is what I’m asking myself. Why would anyone be interested in what I have to say? The answer… they probably aren’t. But I always kept a journal pre-kids and this is a way for me to continue and incorporate my new love, photography. To start, a little about me, I guess.

I am 32 years old. Holy Christ! I can’t believe that I’m really that old. I certainly don’t feel that old. Anyway, I am happily married to the man I sit on the couch with every evening. He on his laptop and I on mine. I have known Matt since 2nd grade. That’s 25 years. Now we didn’t hook up (or really even know more about each other than our names) until college. We started dating and how that started will have to be in another day’s entry. (Ahh yes, the hook to keep you reading more). Our relationship was a strange one, but we finally married in 1999.

We always knew that when we had children I would stay at home with them. This is what I want, what Matt wants, and hopefully what the kids want. Although I’m sure there are many days they wish Miss April at KinderCare was caring for them. Marley is my oldest, born in December of 2003. He is a gentle boy who can talk non-stop and test me to no end. Brodie came along only 18 mos after Marley in July of 2005. He is a little warrior, pushing on even if he’s scared. Our youngest right now is Cale. He is only 6 mos. old and is such a great laid back guy. We plan to have at least one more child. However, I think I’ve convinced Matt that 2 would be best.

I imagine most of my blog will be about my ups and downs of stay at home motherhood. It is one of my greatest joys and accomplishments. In the same breath it can be the most tiring, stressful, and challenging experience of my life.

Hi Amy! Found my way here from Doreen’s blogroll, and I will be reading, too!
